Electricity woes

Letter March 25, 2012
The curse of loadshedding has become much like a chronic disease that damages the daily routine of people.

KARACHI: It has become a norm for the people of Pakistan to live in complete darkness for long hours, thanks to loadshedding and power outages. The authorities seem to be indifferent about the difficulties that the ordinary Pakistani goes through as result of this. Being a student, spending hours in the darkness at night is doubly depressing, since my studies suffer a lot. The curse of loadshedding has become much like a chronic disease that damages the daily routine of people. The lack of measures taken to alleviate this problem proves the negligence and the inefficiency of the authorities concerned.
