Brig Ali approaches Abbottabad commission to record statement: Sources
Sources have said that Brig Ali has requested the Abbottabad commission to allow him to appear in a hearing as he has sensitive information pertaining to national security, which he think should be shared with them. He has, in his written request, stated that he is the one who was most affected by the May 2 raid in which Osama bin Laden was killed.
The application from Brig Ali had been sent though courier dispatch by his family.
Brig Ali, who is accused of having links with Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT), had earlier claimed that the court martial is to malign him because he had asked the military brass to fix responsibility for the May 2 raid. Charges of planning an air raid on the General Headquarters using F-16s had also earlier been dropped.

No officer or Jawan can write such letters against his own organisation nor become a self proclaimed Messiah. He rose to this high rank enforcing army discipline on others but did not respect himself.
Possibly just a scape goat . . .but if true then, what about all those who have conspired against the citizens and sovereignity of the country and looted and brought so much destuction of life and property on the nation too!! Who knows what is what any more!

I suspect some of those dark secrets that the military doesn't want disclosed are now going to come out in the open --- lets hope he doesn't have an accident before he testifies.
The commissions credibility is on the line. Brigadier Ali should not be silenced.
@Ayaz Quiet obvious. He accounted them on it, and now he is facing trumped up charges. The question for me is why link him with HT, why not JuD or some other Jihadi group? Why not even Al Qaeda or Taliban...why HT?
@Ayaz: well, cant you see him facing a court martial ... it is all linked to May 2nd raid because he raised some questions after the raid that many top officials did not want to hear so here you go ..not only lose your retirement benefits but spend the rest of your life in jail ...
If he does know the truth and it is something that differs from the current stated position of PAK you can be assured he will die of natural causes while being held.... the man is either very brave or a fool or both.
This is certainly a very brave move on part of Brig. Ali's family regardless of the allegations leveled against him. May God protect the family and let's hope that justice prevails.
Finally a witness who is an actual insider and privy to some real information. I wonder if commission would allow him to testify and will allow his testimony out in public.
How is Brig Ali most effected by May 2 raid? Was he the protector of OBL in Abbotabad?
If Yaseen Malik from India can approach to appear before the Memo Scandal Commission, why not Brig Ali can appear before the Abbottabad Commission?
The last vestiges of credibility of the commission rest on accepting the submission of Brigadier Ali and not to silence what he has to say.
What was his rank in 1999? What he would have known regarding Kargil and the coup that we don't know of? Seems like he is trying to cling on to anything that sticks.
