Allama Iqbal open university: Foundation stone of 37th campus laid

RAHIM YAR KHAN: The foundation stone laying ceremony of 37th regional campus of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) took place in Rahim Yar Khan on Friday. Chaudhry Javed Iqbal Warriach, National Assembly standing committee on Food Security and Research chairman, was the chief guest. The campus named Hadayat Campus is being established near Shaikh Zayed International Airport with at cost of Rs210 million. Chaudhry Warriach said the campus would benefit as many as 30,000 students. He said the government was committed to promote education as it could help end poverty. AIOU VC Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi said the university was launching a universal education programme to boost literacy rate in the country.
