We cannot prosper as a nation until and unless we have elected those who are truly the representatives of the people.
KARACHI: This is with reference to Dr Pervez Tahir’s article of March 23 titled, “Why do politicians hate local governments?”. The local government system has proven its worth, at least in Karachi, and other areas of urban Sindh. We cannot prosper as a nation until and unless we have elected those who are truly the representatives of the people and belong to the same socioeconomic class as their voters. Thus, the local government system is the only way to achieve this goal.
