Bridge: Marathon team eyes national event

KARACHI: Precision Marathon team will defend their title in the National Bridge Championship which is being staged at Lahore Gymkhana from today. Seven teams including BFAME Champions team will be battling for honours in the five day championship. “The winners will represent Pakistan in World Mind Sports Bridge competition being held in France” said a spokesman of the Pakistan Bridge Federation. Meanwhile, The Allana team, which qualified for the nationals from Sindh, has pulled out of the tournament. Besides the three Sindh teams – Precision Marathon, Chandna and Century Insurance – two from Islamabad, JK team and Engineers, and two from Lahore, Sabres and Pre-empters, are taking part in the event. The event will be played on the Swiss league system before the semi-finals.
