One dead, 25 hurt in Indian Kashmir blast: Police
The blast occurred on a busy main road in the town of Bijbehara, 50 kilometres (30 miles) south of Srinagar, Kashmir's summer capital.
"The driver of the car was killed when explosives he was carrying in his car went off," a police officer who declined to be named told AFP.
Several of the wounded were taken to hospital, one of whom was seriously injured, he said.
Militant groups in Muslim-majority Kashmir have fought against New Delhi's rule for more than 20 years, killing security men and civilians in the highly militarised Himalayan region.
Violence has dropped sharply in Kashmir since India and Pakistan, which each hold part of the Himalayan region but claim it in full, started a peace process in 2004.

who says he is dead..he is a half martyr. Would have been upgraded to Full martyr had he been successfull in killing some innocents.
Hmm.....so my country's assets have focused back to old timepass, killing innocent civilians in Kashmir and blame Indian army for it. Why is Syeed Gilani not speaking anything against this terrorist who blew up himself to kill innocent bystanders ? Why is his heart not crying out now. Ah, of course, he dances on tune of Pakistani pay masters, so of course he will cry and shout slogans only when Indian army kills a militant. Let the game continue.......we just had some small break.
Murderer murders himself! Poetic justice! Although I feel sad for the innocent bystanders. Still, how many more innocent lives would have been wasted if this guy had managed to use the explosives to carry out an attack. I do hope the Pakistan government investigates internally to see if any domestic groups were involved in this.

Yes Agree with Senman, I remember this dialogue from the movie Lakshya where OM Puri tells Hrithik and his commandants before embarking on a mission that never to trust Pakistanis, they make a tactical retreat and come back when the guard is low. Want proof, Mumbai 2008, Kargil in 1999, Siachin in 1984, 1965 and many more examples. With all the DPC meetings across Pakistan, this thought gets all the more serious. Hope mandarins in south and north block are reading the writing clearly on the wall. Rgds
