Pakistan topples Bangladesh to lift Asia Cup
Team Green won the final match against Bangladesh on Thursday by two runs at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka.
After a nail-biting performance from both sides, Pakistan managed to bowl out the panicked Bangladeshi players in the last ten overs.
The wickets of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim at short intervals gave Pakistan an advantage towards the end of the match.
A stellar bowling effort from Bangladesh in the first inning helped restrict Pakistan to 236.
Sarfraz Ahmed, who replaced Wahab Riaz, was the highest scorer for Pakistan at 46 runs. Shahid Afridi and Ahmed also put on a quick partnership of 45 runs to help stabilise the innings.
Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak and Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets each.

@Salman: Don't say that Salman. Watching tears in their eyes broke my heart and made me teary eyed. Let's not be so insensitive. I am glad that my team won and wanted it. Some Pakistanis were supporting Bangladesh because frankly they worked very hard and you could see it on their faces that how much they wanted it. I did feel a little guilty honestly but that doesn't mean we didn't deserve it. We are happy that Bangladesh has become a force in cricket and now the matches with them will be real tough. They should be proud that they fought so hard and only lost because of inexperience. I am sure in future they will win many finals.
PS. Really angry at Hasina Wajid. She showed no sportsman spirit. She simply ran away. Imagine if we had lost.
@Salman: Salam bhai! I think you are wrong here. Would you be surprised if I tell you some of my friends cheered for Pakistan. If Pakistan were to host Asia Cup, logically there would be more Pakistani supporting their team than the spectators supporting the other team. You also should remember Bangladeshi fan crazily supported Pak during Pak-West Indies match during the world cup. Bro I tell you its the only hatred that took us far far away from each other. @Saadia: Actually the most precious thing in anyone's life is his/her life. My most precious thing in my life is my country, Bangladesh. Allah did not answer my request so that he could test my Imaan. By doing that it proves Allah loves me alot. He tests only those whom He loves. Trust me I am quite happy now. I saw my Pakistani and Bangladeshi brothers sharing this mourn with us. Its like judwa bhais. One cries and by seeing other one starts to cry too. Stop sympathizing with Bangladesh. Didn't you saw them "booing" our players after the defeat and just like in any typical Indian ground, there used to be a silence when ever Pakistan used to hit a 4. There was NO sportsmen ship from their crowd. Those people deserved tears and I really enjoyed the agony they felt in the end...Their BCCI licking board is also NOT sending their team to Pakistan, so much for the brotherhood crap. Regarding Indians trolls here, well who cares about them...they have been kicked and beaten out in every test and odi series after the WC. Their WC wining creditability has gone to zero, enough said! I am not excited that Pakistan has won...they did not played well. They just got LUCKY. Bangladesh played extremely well and gave a tough time to Pakistan. It was their inexperience that their batsmen melted under pressure in the last two overs. The way the media is behaving is shameful. After all Pakistan lost to India. Pakistan has to do some soul searching and try to improve their performance despite winning accidentally ASIA CUP. Well Done Bangladesh... You have done great honor to your country.

This was one of the best ODI you can ever get. Congrats to Pakistan for wining a thriller in the end and commiserations to Bangladesh side. They played excellent cricket through out the tournament and so as in the final but some how they cannot get over Pakistan for the last decade or so. Pakistani bowlers just proved that why they are best or one of the best bowling attacks in the world by defending a moderate total on this flat track. Early Pakistani batters looked under pressure, may be defeat against India was still haunting their not so confident minds but last over just gave them the push which was needed.Pakistani spinners were awesome once again. Bangladesh was lucky enough that they didn't lose more wickets against the trio since they had no clue against them. Shakib is good but he needs to learn how to finish the game.
P.S Being a Pakistani, I always vouch for Pakistan to win and even today for every second of a match. Its stupid to even think and wishes for other side to win involving a game against us.I dont know how can some ppl can even think about it. Thank you shaheens (Pak players) to provide us with a perfect Pakistan's Day(23rd March) gift.

We could have won the match if it wasn't for the 19 runs gifted away Shahadat. I don't blame him though since it was a first time for us under such pressure cooker scenario in front of the home crowd. We have showed the world that we are improving and will inshallah will reach PAK,IND and SL level very soon. Congratulations to the PAK team for pulling off another thrilling win.
