Deputation: NAB yet to hire 13 FIA officials
There is currently an acute shortage in NAB’s permanent staff, as two FIA officials have retired.
LAHORE:
Despite repeated attempts, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has failed to hire officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on deputation basis for the purpose of conducting enquiries and investigations. There is currently an acute shortage in NAB’s permanent staff, as two FIA officials have retired, one passed away and another has been sent abroad, The Express Tribune has learnt. The bureau had sent a requisition to the interior ministry for hiring the services of 13 officials of the FIA on deputation basis for conducting enquiries and investigation as well as office work, sources in NAB said. The FIA is willing to surrender the services of four officers out of the 13 officials. Out of remaining eight officials, the interior ministry refused to provide services of five officials of Basic Pay Scale (BPS-16). The ministry, however, is yet to issue formal orders in this regard, sources familiar with the matter confirmed.
