Two policemen shot dead in Quetta

The assailants escaped immediately after the incident.

Two police personnel were shot dead by unknown assailants in Quetta on Tuesday.


The two policemen were deputed at picket on Smugli Road in Jinnah Town when assailants on a motorbike opened fire at them, killing them instantly. The assailants escaped immediately after the incident.

A heavy contingent of police and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area.

“Two police personnel were shot dead in Jinnah Town. Police have launched an investigation into the matter,” Capital City
Police Officer Ehsan Mehboob told The Express Tribune. “It was a targeted attack and the culprits will be arrested soon.”

The bodies were shifted to the Sandeman Hospital for autopsy. The deceased officials were identified as Liaquat and Naimatullah. They both were among police personnel called from the Police Training Centre.

The motive behind the murders could not be identified and no group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
