RAWALPINDI: An FIR has been lodged in Adiala Police Post against Adiala Jail Warden Saqib on Wednesday after he was found illegally taking a mobile phone, two chargers and a SIM card into the jail for some prisoners. Adiala Jail Senior Superintendent Malik Mushtaq Awan said that the warden was deputed on temporarily duty from 10pm last night. A routine search by jail officials found the contraband on his person. “The officials informed jail authorities and brought this matter to my knowledge. On my order, an FIR was lodged in Adiala Police Post and an inquiry under E and D rules has also been initiated against the accused,” he said. Awan said staff deputed inside the jail are searched by jail officials when they begin their shifts.
