LAHORE: The Lahore High Court issued contempt of court notices on Tuesday to the Gujranwala City Division SP and the Dhallay SHO in the recovery case of a girl from a local pir. The court directed them to file written replies and explain their position by March 27, the next date of hearing. Ghulam Rasool filed a petition for the recovery of his daughter from Inam Hussain Shah. He said the family had taken his daughter, Amina, to the pir for spiritual healing but Shah’s men had abducted her. He said the police had not made any progress in the case since the FIR was registered on April 27, 2011. On Tuesday, the SP told the court that following a tip-off a special team had been sent to Karachi to recover the girl. However, he failed to name team members. An irked judge thenissued contempt of court notices to the SP and the SHO.
