The protestors had grouped near Novelty Bridge on Samundari Road and chanted slogans against Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). The protestors also burnt tyres and destroyed signboards.
An unidentified man started aerial firing during the protest and was beaten up by the protestors, he had to jump into the canal to save himself.
A heavy contingent of police and armoured vehicles arrived on the scene.
The protestors stated that one shift at the factories had already been finished and duration of loadshedding had been increased to 16 hours during the last one week.
They said that this had caused a loss to the livelihood of many people and textile factories were also being shut down.

I wonder why Punjab blame federal govt for load shading After 18th amendment, Punjab govt has to look after its crisis, and it has to generate its own resources, it become habit of punjab to use resources of other provinces, and this time all provinces are made to follow NFC award. Plz learn to live within your own resources. Today Balochistanis not blasting gas pipelines to Punjab .... Punjab should think over it.
@Abdul Kareem: Let me see if i can get this right...isnt it "the fortress of islam",aka "the land of pure".
Load shedding, lawlessness, minority bashing, hated by the world, plump mullahs, nuclear weapons, religious extremism, corrupt leaders, slapping election staff and rigging, kidnapping young girls, forced conversions, blasphemy laws, war lords, sectarian criminals, extortionists. All in one country, which one?
stupid people. don't they understand that the government car is going to be bought from their taxes
Good to see police tackling the situation as best as they can.
By the way, the car you just broke up? A new replacement will arrive next month and your utility bills payments will pick up the tab. Destroying public property (and government property in Pakistan) never helps anyone.
I actually think the police did a good job in this situation where they were not standing and staring at the protestors....i think its working !!
Didn't our guiding light Mr. Asif Ali Zardari say the country is doing great and its just "your perception" that people have no work, no money, no food, no gas, no electricity, no education, no future, no justice, no hope. Shame on us stupid people for not jumping with joy and grabbing the limitless opportunities bestowed upon us in this environment so conducive to longterm constructive growth and prosperity....
