Termination Orders: Drivers, band members go to court

Police drivers and band members who were sacked after a year’s work have gone to court to get their jobs back.

KARACHI: Police drivers and band members who were sacked after a year’s work have gone to court to get their jobs back. According to their lawyer, Shoua-un-Nabi, out of the 77 staffers who lost their jobs, 20 were reinstated, which was discrimination. Twenty-five of the sacked police staffers decided to file a petition as a result. Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Nisar Muhammad Shaikh went over the documents and the orders terminating their services before ordering for pre-admission notices to be sent to the officials named in the petition. The notices were issued for April 25 to the chief secretary, home secretary, inspector general of police among others.The police staff mostly hails from Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Karachi.
