Football: ‘Berbatov to leave at end of season’

SOFIA: Manchester United’s Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov will leave the club at the end of this season to play elsewhere in Europe, according to his agent. “We accept that [United manager] Sir Alex Ferguson is trying to build a new team, change the playing style and introduce more speed,” said the agent. “The club’s future does not include Berbatov.” He said United would not oppose Berbatov’s move in the summer even if they chose to extend his contract by a year. Berbatov joined Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
