Slap ban: Waheeda Shah files petition challenging ECP's decision
The petition also challenged ECP’s decision of holding by-polls of Sindh Assembly seat PS-53 again, and asked the court to issue a stay order in this regard.
The petition was filed by her counsel on her behalf.
Besides facing an inquiry for assaulting polling staff, Bukhari was also involved in an alleged case of rigging during the by-polls in PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan.
She was declared the winner in the initial vote-count of the provincial seat by-poll (PS 53), but following the infamous slapping incident caught on video, the ECP withheld official results.
She was caught on camera slapping two women at polling station No. 16 at the Government Girls High School.

She should be banned from running for any public office and also pay an indemnity to the ladies who got slapped..
This feudal and uncivilized lady is a stigma on the face of Peoples Party; she should be bar for the life time from the contest in any future elections or holding any public office.
This lady must be given a severe penalty and her membership from PPP should be cancelled along with ban to appear in next two elections
I don't have any soft corner for Waheeda Shah.
Now she should face the music. If she will be allowed to become member of the Provincial Assembly, she may repeat her actions any time.
It would appear from the report that the inquiry has yet to take place for slapping and rigging Incidents.Technically she can approach the court for the relief,but morally best course for her was an honourable retirement from politics. The court will decide the case based on the evidence produced to the bench and here lies the hope for her.

We the people of Pakistan appreciate and fully support this good decision taken by ECP. I hope that Singh High Court will increase this ban upto 4 years and if she filed petition in Supreme court then SC should make it 8 years. In this way common people of Pakistan will start trusting their institutions.
Why is she still part of PPP Mr Zardari?
The SHC should further slap a longer disqualification on her. Maybe a conviction. That will lighten the load on SC.
How could she show such a disrespect to someone who is on duty. I mean these to be MNAs and MPAs think they are above the law. This getting physical culture has to be absolutely removed from the society by setting strict fines and punishments. The decision by ECP is totally justified and shouldnt be in any case reverted.
