Snooker: Robertson books spot in Galway semis

GALWAY: Australia’s Neil Robertson marched into the semi-finals of the Players Tour Championship Grand Finals in Galway after defeating Joe Perry 4-1. Robertson, who won the Masters two months ago, will meet Stephen Maguire in the last-four of the event after the Scot squeezed past Ricky Walden 4-3. “I felt fantastic tonight and if I had not missed three easy balls I could have had more century breaks,” said Robertson. “I wasn’t sure how I would feel because Perry and I are such good friends.” Meanwhile, the other semi-final will be contested by Andrew Higginson, who downed Xiao Guodong 4-1, and Stephen Lee, who whitewashed world number one Mark Selby 4-0.
