SARGODHA: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Mian Anwar Nazir on Saturday extended the physical remand of former MPA Aslam Midhyana, arrested for torturing a school teacher, for five days. The ATC judge cancelled the bail petitions of three other suspects arrested in the case: Iftikhar, Khurrum and Jamsheed. The bail plea of Nadeem Sarwar, son-in-law of Aslam Midhyana, was accepted by the court. Victim Nafees Khan’s counsel Shahid Nazir said that the court had accepted his request for constitution of a medical board to re-examine the teacher. He said the court’s decision to grant the bail of Nadeem Sarwar would be challenged in the Lahore High court. Midhyana’s counsel Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhari said they had challenged the insertion of Section 7 of the ATA in the Lahore High court. The plea would be heard by the court on March 19, he added.
