KARACHI:

KESC beat KPT 3-1 to book a place in the last-eight of the National Challenge Cup, while NBP held KRL to a 2-2 draw.

Mohammad Rasool’s hat-trick, with goals in the eighth, 48th, and 54th minutes, helped KESC secure a quarter-final berth. KPT’s Jamaluddin found the net in the 22nd minute but it was not enough.

Meanwhile, KRL were indebted to Rizwan Asif for the opener in the 18th minute as they led 1-0 at half-time. NBP levelled through an Abdul Aziz goal in the 56th minute. Mohammad Asif put NBP ahead with another goal three minutes later. But the sea-saw match continued as KRL levelled with Kaleemullah scoring in the 62nd minute.

In other matches, Pak Steel crushed GPA 4-0 and National Youth team A (under-19) beat Police 2-1, who played without six of their key players.

Wapda will face PPWD and Army take on Navy in two quarter-finals today.
