I have a bigger question than THE PRESIDENT speech. If AZ with his reputation (right or wrong) can become the president of pakistan (with the highest number of votes in history) then thre is something wrong in our political/election system.

In a country where more than 50% population has NO education, DEMOCRACY is used as weapon by the corrupt to control the huge masses. By not removing the feudals 60 years ago Pakistan is now in full and multi-tier control by the feudals. Now only the masses coming together as one body one body can help bring true democracy which is only awestern sham today.

I believe you Mr. President!
Yes achievement to buy off all political opposition in the assembly and be able to throw bones at the political class to reveal their true cupidity and venality at the expense of the general public. He truly deserves to have addressed the parliament five times as he rightfully represents the present Pakistan where the principle of 'bigger the criminal, higher the political office' applies in letter and spirit.
Go Zardari Go
12000 contract employees regularised. Additional 3300 megawatt of electricity added to the grid
DEMOCRACY IS THE BEST REVENGE
"Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad are not present." is he (Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry) the political leader or a Government servant .???? SHAME . . .???

Democracy has been redifined in Pakistan making it a dirty word.
@Naushad Shafkat: Right on mate!
The MQM is thumping desks in support of the government.
Wasnt today a strike by MQM against the government? Confused people they are.
It was totally baseless address, it doesn't matter 5th or 10th what we've suffered in present government been the one of the worst time and still it continues, most of the time, President seemed confused and slipped off the tongue been a major issue, i guess maybe most of the things which he mentioned were lies and baseless, frankly speaking who says pakistani people has the freedom to choose? here election is more like a selection and president NA does and mandate never suppose to follow on, corruption always break the previous records. I wonder why when will it all end.
God Help Us all.
I was astonished to hear all that the government has done !!! I wasnt even sure kay was he tlking about pakistan in the first place :p
Congratulations.
The speech was disgusting. Full of lies and fake promises as always. Only loved the part where the opposition were chanting slogans especially the loot mar band karoo wala !!! XD
LOL @ MQM
PPP Zindabad...Long live Zardari.
We have proud on MR Zardari
What are things come too!
Stop complaining couch potatoes, if you really feel this president should be removed then move to the streets. The irony is that the people are as corrupt as their rulers. Enjoy!
The fact that the address is taking place is in itself a historic moment. Think of all the ploys employed to see him and democracy out. All detractors please switch off your T.V's. A salute to President (elected) Zardari, Prime Minister Gillani and the Pakistan Peoples Party - the party that, in reality has never lost a general election since inception! Jeay Bhutto!
We all share blame for this. Pakistan please forgive us.
President's joint address of parliament is full of anti-PPP government slogans in the joint parliament.
The people of Pakistan are today grieved that during the tenure of PPP government, it has given nothing to the people of Pakistan, except joblessness, poverty, unprecedented high inflation, terrorism, killings of uncounted innocent people.
A bad day for Pakistan that President's speech is meaningless.
Pakistan's worst 4 years. Terrorism: Nearly 20,000 Pakistanis killed since 2008. Energy Fiasco: 10+ hours Electricity Load-shedding in routine, 2-3 days CNG closure, 2-3 days industrial gas supply closure; hundreds of Billions circular debt, RPP fiasco. Corruption hallmark: Rs. 8500 Billion eaten. Sovereignty Compromises: 300+ Drone Attacks, May 2 disaster, Raymond Davis etc. Economy Disaster: Below 4% GDP growth since 2008; Foreign debt from $ 38 Billion to 60+ Billion. Poverty & Inflation: Continuous double-digit inflation since 2008; joblessness; poverty records broken. So what exactly is HISTORIC about dear Mr. President's 5th address to the parliament except off course the HISTORIC RHETORIC.
meaningless adress...
