PS-53 by-election: EC announces new schedule for TMK
Following the disqualification of Waheeda Shah (who was caught on television slapping polling staff) from contesting elections for two years, the Election Commission announced on Friday that it was holding by-elections for PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan on April 26.
Nomination forms will be issued on March 21 and 22, and will be approved on March 29. The candidates can withdraw their nominations till April 3, while the final list of all candidates will be published on April 4. Sindh Election Commissioner Sono Khan Baloch said that there were reports that Waheeda Shah would challenge her ineligibility, but the commission had not received a stay order from the court yet. He said that if the court ordered one then the by-elections could also be delayed.
