Dominique Strauss-Kahn at Cambridge

DORTMUND, GERMANY: This is with reference to Dr Pervez Tahir’s article “Dominique Strauss-Kahn at Cambridge” (March 16). Being a former student of the University of Cambridge, I fully support the decision of the Cambridge Union Society to invite the former boss of the International Monetary Fund to address its members. The Union acted within its rights to invite him to speak on topics he was rightly deemed competent in. Furthermore, I hope the Union will refuse to be tamed by the kind of protests that were witnessed when Strauss-Kahn was invited, in the future as well. Political correctness can be stifling and restrict freedom of speech.
