Gross mistake, realised in time not to join PTI: Marvi Memon
Calls Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf a PML-Q part two.
Former MNA and a recent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz recruit, Marvi Memon during a Express News show “To the Point with Shahzeb Khanzada”, explained that she is glad that she averted a gross mistake by not joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Pointing towards the joining of political stalwarts such as Javed Hashmi and others, she said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf had fast become a Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid part two.
Realising this, Memon said she was glad that she had not joined PTI.
Explaining that she had come to this realisation over a period of time rather than overnight, she said "I got lucky that I realised in time, that this change was not what it claimed to be."
Memon said that the expectations that she, as well as a number of people had with PTI, that they would bring real change, were not met. This, she admitted, was disappointing for everybody, including the PTI which was hoping to take her on board. “When I saw that this had become a PML-Q part two, I could not join it.”
She added that by joining the PTI, she would have continued the same mistake she made in joining the PML-Q, from which she resigned in 2011.
Though she went on to insist that her decision to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was not for power or money.
