LAHORE: The Punjab Law Ministry has sent a summary to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for formulating High Court benches in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sahiwal, Express News reported on Thursday.

The summary will be presented in the next session of the cabinet for approval, after which the cabinet’s advice will be forwarded to the Lahore High Court chief justice.

The chief justice, after taking advices, will formulate the High Court benches in the three cities.

The lawyers in these districts have been protesting since a long time for the formation of the benches. Earlier this month, several protesting lawyers broke into the premises of University of Sargodha prior to the laptop distribution ceremony chaired by the chief minister and demanded a High Court bench.
