QUETTA:

The Balochistan High Court (BHC), expressing strong resentment on the appalling condition of education in the province, has directed the Higher Education Secretary to appear before the court in next hearing with complete information regarding the teachers slain in targeted killings.

The chief justice also said that the appointment of lecturers on a contractual basis is clear discrimination towards the people of Balochistan and maintained that it was this discrimination that had brought the education and future of this region to the verge of destruction. Referring to target killings, he said: “The teachers have great respect in civilised society, but unfortunately teachers are being brutally killed here, in Balochistan”.
