Sui Northern Gas Pipelines has started a survey to track down underground leakages to cut down gas escaping the system, said SNGPL General Manager Rehan Nawaz on Tuesday.
Nawaz during a corporate briefing further said that all such efforts have reduced Unaccounted For Gas (UFG) to 11.07% in December 2011 from 12.4% in June 2011.
The Corporate Briefing Programme is an initiative of the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) to increase market efficiency by removing information disparity in the marketplace. Market leaders are invited through this programme to present their company’s performance and future plans to the public.
Meanwhile, SNGPL Senior General Manager Audit Sagheerul Hassan said that the gas distributor serves over four million domestic, commercial and industrial consumers with 278,400 consumers expected to be added in fiscal 2012.
In the current scenario where liquidity is drying up, high profile companies like SNGPL need to establish an investor relations department to resolve information issued of investors, said LSE Managing Director Aftab Ahmad Chaudhry. Increased information sharing improves liquidity in a stock of a company, he added.
