Political appointments: Punjab govt’s reply sought

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Punjab government to file a reply, by May 2, on a petition challenging appointments of advisers at high salaries.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial was hearing the petition filed by Advocate Rana Mehtab who has submitted that the appointments, which he alleges are politically motivated, are a burden on the national exchequer.

He has prayed that the court declare all such appointments as unlawful.
