No apologies

Letter March 12, 2012
Obama expressed his condolences for incident that killed 16 civilians but Hamid Karzai described it as ‘unforgivable’.

JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: A deranged, frustrated and vengeful American soldier walked into a nearby village in the middle of the night, broke into three homes and killed at least 16 civilians including 9 children. President Barack Obama called his counterpart in Kabul to express his condolences. However, Hamid Karzai has correctly described the incident as ‘unforgivable’.

The same day, a young suicide bomber blows himself up during a funeral procession near Peshawar, killing at least 17 people, while injuring others. The Taliban from Darra Adem Khel proudly accepted the responsibility for this massacre and vowed to launch similar attacks in the future. Regrettably, no one has apologised for these incidents.

Also on the same day, another suicide bomber, believed to be a foot soldier of Boko Haram, attacked a church in Nigeria killing at least 10 people. Again no one has offered an apology.

Earlier on March 11, six people were killed in a grenade attack in Nairobi, possibly a work of Somali group al-Shabab. Regrettably, again, there were no apologies.
