Lack of accountability: PMDC blasted over practices

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Sunday alleged that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) was doling out benefits to private and government colleges, despite their substandard quality. PMA’s General Secretary Dr Mirza Ali Azhar and other office bearers alleged that PMDC was approving the benefits without any accountability and that these institutions lacked the quality and high standards required. They claimed that the previous government took no measures in this regard, while the present government had constituted a committee which made a new bill of PMDC, and approved it without any hesitation.
