Bridge: Century Insurance shock Solox

Century Insurance defied odds to qualify for the second round of the National Bridge team Championship.

KARACHI: Century Insurance defied odds to qualify for the second round of the National Bridge team Championship, while Precision Marathon, The Allana and Chandna also advanced in the event to be played in Lahore. The Sindh qualifiers concluded yesterday with a surprise as defending champions Solox failed their progress to the next leg of the championship after losing 27-7 to Century Insurance in the sixth round. Century bagged 105 Victory Points (VPs) at the conclusion of the qualifiers. Meanwhile, Precision Marathon finished top of the standings with 134.17 VPs as they remained unbeaten. The Allana ended the first leg with 109 VPs despite losing their last two matches to Century Insurance (25-5) and Precision Marathon (25-2).
