In high spirits: A day-long event for young athletes
The Annual Sports Day of Islamabad College of Arts and Sciences (Icas) was held here on Saturday.

In high spirits, students of all ages conquered the ground at a sports event on Saturday, engaging in different activities such as egg-and-spoon, relay, sack and frog races.
The Annual Sports Day of Islamabad College of Arts and Sciences (Icas) was held here on Saturday.
Divided in four groups; Knights, Panthers, Warriors and Jaguars, hundreds of students from pre-nursery to A’levels proved their mettle during the day-long event, which was also attended by parents. However, the Panthers group defeated all other groups by scoring 100 points overall and was given the champions trophy, while the Jaguars group stood second in the competitions.
“It was refreshing to participate in these activities for a change. The tug-of-war was the most exciting part in the entire event,” said Wasif Ahmed, a student of Icas.
“This is the second time I am taking part in this event. Last year I was unable to achieve first position but this year I have beaten everyone else,” said Daniyal, another student.
While talking to The Express Tribune Icas Principal Nusrat Tahir said the basic objective of such events is to provide a healthy environment to students for their athletic development. Saba Raisani, the wife of Balochistan Chief Minister, was the chief guest on the occasion.
