Al-Haj FAW Motors Private Limited held a launch ceremony for the introduction of two new automobiles in the Pakistani market at a local hotel.
The company aims to introduce a mini van (the FAW X-PV) and a mini pickup truck (the FAW Carrier) to Pakistani consumers. The FAW X-PV’s price has been kept at Rs699,000, while the FAW Carrier is priced at Rs609,000.
The cars will be assembled in Pakistan from June 2012 onwards. On the occasion, CEO of Al-Haj FAW Motors Hilal Khan Afridi said that the cars have been priced competitively, and profit margins kept low, in order to tap local markets.
“The future of automobiles in Pakistan belongs to Chinese technology; it is effective, and very economical as compared to its Japanese and
American competition,” he said.

Dear Sir,
please note that the price really do matters. In these days where fuel prices are again increasing, the 800 cc vehicles or less then these are getting more economical then 100 cc cars specially in chinese assembling. i would really want to give an example of Korakoram Motors, they are alos importing the vehicles from China & same matter with them the prices are sooo high for disposable vehicles like chinese. Please dont mind but the resale of Suzuki Bolan & Pickup is much higher then chinese brand.
Regards,
@kasselboy
Mehran isn't Japanese. It's by Pak Suzuki. Japanese really do make great quality cars.
Both look like rip offs of Japanese pick up trucks. The red one is a Suzuki Omni and other is Nissan pick up truck. Wonder after how many miles engine will break down.
"Japanese are Masters of building Good quality cars??" show me the quality in Mehran... :D mann you make me laugh... :D
At least their spare-parts are available easily
As long as it works withouy constant breaking down it is fine.
The JAPS are masters at building GOOD quality cars??? The proof of the pudding will be in the coming years. Price versus quality!!!
Pakistan is a poor country. We cannot afford expensive Americans,Germans etc cars and trucks. Look at India, they never ban all imports until recent past and build their own stuff. We should not be spending our foreign exchange on luxuries.
China must love Pakistan.
more garbage automobiles
Maybe the Public Education system can be handed to China for a lease of 10 years until a new generation of graduates comes up....
Give the country to chinese rather than americans
i like how your pictures are of suzukis.
