KARACHI:

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar of the Sindh High Court on Thursday ordered SHO Khokrapar to appear before him on March 22 as the orders passed by the court in October 2011 have not been implemented yet.

The single bench earlier heard counsel for the petitioner, Muhammad Umar Khehar, who maintained that on February 11, 2011 and on October 28, 2011, the high court had asked the police officials to protect the life and property of the petitioner and not harass him.

Filing an application alleging contempt of court for not implementing its orders, the petitioner maintained that the police, land mafia and drug pushers were harassing him and his family, including two sons, and attempts are being made to dispossess him from the piece of land he owns. The petitioner stated that after he filed the petition, sewer water was diverted towards his plot which is now being transformed into a garbage dump.

The petitioner appealed to the court to protect his life and property as it is one of his fundamental rights.
