KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has announced that it has selected Fidelity Information Service’s CBA system – a globally used software system designed for large banks with a transaction size of over 500,000 per day. In a press release, NBP says that being the largest bank of the country it is NBP’s top priority to automate operations in the wake of fierce competition. NBP says the bank is the largest provider of financial services to the government, making it imperative that it pursues automation as a top priority. NBP entered into an agreement with this globally renowned company in September 2008 after NAB closed an inquiry and issued clearance. “The CBA project shall bring significant automation and efficiency to all core areas including customer services, account automation, internet banking, loan origination automation as well as effective risk mitigation and internal controls,” it says.
