LAHORE: The policeman should be a symbol of peace so that when a citizen sees one, she feels secure instead of terrified, said Inspector General Muhammad Habibur Rehman at the passing out parade at the Police Training School Chuhng on Wednesday. A total of 840 jawans, 265 who completed the 6th Upper and 575 who completed the Intermediate course, were honoured at the ceremony. Rehman said there would be zero tolerance for corruption in the police. Any official caught taking a bribe would be kicked off the force, he said. The jawans should change the police culture and turn police stations into places where people get security.
