Brave men in uniform

The govt needs to ensure that the families of martyred policemen get their fair share of financial compensation.

ISLAMABAD: The police put their lives at risk for the security of citizens. Just like our military, they sacrifice their sleep and stay up at night to ensure that peace is maintained on the streets of Pakistan. Their life is always in danger and they are at risk of losing their lives anytime because of their task of fighting crime. Many of them even die during crime operations. But what do they and their family get for this hard work? Once they die, their family is in a mess, especially if the dead policeman is the sole breadwinner.

Every so often, one gets to read of reports where it is said that the family of a police officer who died while fighting militants is still waiting for money from the state. The government needs to ensure that the families of martyred policemen get their fair share of financial compensation.
