Cricket: KRL, United Bank through to semis

KRL beat Lahore Lions by six wickets.

KARACHI: KRL and United Bank sealed National One-day Cup Division-II semi-final berths from Group A after registering comprehensive victories yesterday. KRL beat Lahore Lions by six wickets as they chased down the latter’s total of 212. Ali Khan (87) and Yasir Arafat (52) hit unbeaten half-centuries in KRL’s chase. Meanwhile, United Bank secured a four-wicket win over Peshawar Panthers as they chased down a target of 160 with over 12 overs to spare. Elsewhere, in Group B matches, Karachi Zebras lost by five wickets to Hyderabad, while Lahore Eagles posted a five-wicket win over Quetta Bears.
