Search Operation: Police on the hunt for alleged rapist

Channa’s son Sheeraz said that five men tried to rape her but when they couldn’t they attacked her with a knife.

HYDERABAD: On Monday, the Hala police nominated a suspect for attempting to rape and stab a woman identified as Naheed Channa, 35, who was brought to Civil Hospital, Hyderbad on March 2. Channa’s son Sheeraz said that five men tried to rape her but when they couldn’t they attacked her with a knife. He added that his mother managed to escape alive but got 70 stitches to help the injuries heal. Her husband, Muhammad Baksh Channa is a tobacconist. The family resides in Gulshan-i-Faheem, Hala. Channa lodged the FIR, under sections 324 and 365 B under the code of criminal procedure, against Mashooq Khokhar, Sajid Macchi and three others.
