Prosecutors at the court in the western city of Duesseldorf say 29-year-old Turgay C. was part of a network since 2008 which financially supported the IMU from Germany.
His 25-year-old brother, Omer C., trained at an IMU camp in the Afghan-Pakistani border area in 2009 and took part in combat missions, according to the prosecution.
He then returned to Germany a year later and raised funds, it said.
The two, who are German nationals, were arrested about a year ago.
