Senate elections: Results challenged in Supreme Court

Petitioner contends that government paid million of rupees to parliamentarians in order to secure their votes.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry praying that the recent Senate elections’ result be set aside.

The petitioner, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, alleges that the polls were rigged. Khan has requested that the court repeal Article 224 of the Constitution. The petitioner contends that government paid million of rupees to parliamentarians in order to secure their votes.
