Cricket: Sri Lanka drop Herath for Asia Cup
Was replaced by leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna.
COLOMBO:
Sri Lanka selectors left out spinner Rangana Herath for the four-nation Asia Cup in Bangladesh. Herath, part of the squad for the ongoing Tri-Nation Series in Australia, was replaced by leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna, who played his last One-Day International (ODI) in November last year. The 14-man squad will be led by Mahela Jayawardene, with Angelo Mathews as his deputy. Sri Lanka also recalled fast-bowler Suranga Lakmal, while pacemen Dhammika Prasad and Chanaka Welegedara failed to find a place in the squad.
