ISLAMABAD: An electric geyser in a house went off with a bang on Friday, causing momentary panic in the city. The police and rescue teams reached the house in Sector G-6/3 within minutes. However, there were no casualties as the inmates of the house, a married couple and their child, were safe inside. Police said the blast occurred due to a faulty thermostat on the geyser, causing the unit to explode. The blast caused minor damage to the windows of nearby rooms. Labourers were renovating the exterior of the house at the time, but they all managed to avoid injury, the police said.
