Responding to a question raised by the Memogate commission via video link, Ijaz said that he had first met Zardari in 1995 and then again in 2009. “Husain Haqqani had also emailed me for a third meeting [with Zardari],” he added.
Ijaz further said he again got in touch with Haqqani after Osama bin Laden’s death. He said that the former US Ambassador [Haqqani] had said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the army would never believe in the possibility of a memo reaching Admiral Mike Mullen through James Jones.
He said that after the publication his op-ed in the Financial Times, Husain Haqqani called him. Ijaz said that he told Haqqani that his op-ed must have caused the Ambassador some discomfort. Haqqani then confided to him that the information contained in the article was accurate, however, none of it could be publically admitted.
Ijaz added in his testimony that after the Abbottabad incident, Haqqani had approached him, citing fears that the Military in Pakistan was moving for a coup over the democratically elected government. To confirm what Haqqani was telling him, Ijaz said that he used his contacts with the intelligence agencies of different countries to verify this information. The findings were documented.
Justice Faiz Essa sealed the documents with directives for it to be handed over to the secretary of the commission.

Where did this fellow get the information on "air movements"?
Khalid Pathan, for the millionth time, the US used a new "stealth" helicopter in the raid which is invisible to radar. No one, not even well-regarded defense experts knew of the existence of this helicopter and if one had not crashed at the site, no one would have still known. However, now they do -- except obviously you!
An American, ok ok, a Pakistani American almost bought down the GOP, ridiculed the Agency, alienated pro-Agency people against them, bringing in the Difa-e-Pakistan into action and what not. Yet Pakistanis think Pres. Karzai is a puppet.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: Very well said Siddiqui, I also want the SC to take notice of this and register a case against Sadr Obama for high treason @ Lahore HC!
Mansoor Ijaz wrote an article. He did not call for a Supreme Court hearing. He's not asking for anyone lynching. WE ARE DOING ALL THIS OURSELVES. It is beyond my understanding why the entire nation is against a non-Pakistani who said or wrote something. We are the ones running after him to find out stuff.
In any event, in my opinion, even if a self-professed murderer speaks the truth, it remains the truth, the speakers history or personal perception does not change facts!
Where is Hussain Haqani. Why is he not in London?. why is he not turning in his BlackBerry record?
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: why grateful ? They are elected by people..who gave right for coup ? Is it a fundamental right of army ?
Dawn says that the US helicopter pilots were in contact with PAK air traffic controllers, according to Ijaz.
Now Ijaz brought fire on to the Army. Will Mr. Kayani or Mr. Pasha Resign? Hussain Haqqani Resigned no?
This whole Drama is to,some how stop the Gas pipe line from Iran. First the Americans through this Ahmedi crony tried to dislodge the government and create a unrest between the institutions.
Having failed in this now he has once again turned his guns towards the Army. It is a shame that Pasha failed to see the evil side of this Ahmedi and his role to create anarchy in the country. He is a professional con artist who owes monies to Banks and financial institutes.
How he got details of air control and the movement of us helicopters? how is that related to a coup? If he got that information from the us, then why was he writing the memo? Bottom line is that this cheapster just wants to keep spinning.
How is it possible that China has NEVER blamed India, the USA or Israel in the deaths of ANY Chinese in Pakistan? Are they less aware of the circumstances, after thorough investigations, than the armchair experts with their own huge investigative agencies at their private beck & call (!)?? No wonder you people have no credibility with any human beings anywhere in the world!
comedy inside a comedy, unmatched by any circus on earth.
Now where are the MI and army's supporters. According to them MI does not lie, so this must be true especially verified by various foreign services. How did MI get all the confidential info regarding the copter and air traffic and Pasha's trips to Middle East? HH is a politician but Pasha is a soldier and supposed to withhold the constitution and not subvert it and protect terrorists. What made the generals so angry against the elected govt after OBL's killing?
whats wrong seeking help to counter treason even if it may have been sought from the USA or any other country. All the responsible in enforcing or aiding treason must be brought to justice to create atmosphere of fearless democratic governess. I say fighting against treason is Jehad and people must response to it forcefully as all what we have been reaping is the results of our treasonous dictators aided by quite a few high ranking military officials.

So Pasha was conspiring to overthrow the elected government and according to Mansoor Ejaz he had verified this. On top of this Pasha has already admitted that he went to see Ejaz in October to spy against the government he reports to and obviously did not without the authority of the Prime Minister. So why no consequences for Pasha for breaching his oath? If we believe Ejaz and therefore Haqqani lost his job, why did we not believe him and make Pasha lose HIS job?
So he spoke to some people, they allegedly told him something, and that constitutes "proof"? What nonsense!
I am still waiting for the SC to show some interest in the the legality of the alleged coup as well as the head of the ISI pandering permission from the Arabs for the coup. The selective use of the information coming out of this "investigation' is one of the reasons that it lacks credibility.
Dawn reported that US pilots were in communication with PAK air traffic controllers( before or after US raid, not sure). Ijaz BBM with Mr. Haqqani has a reference to Mr. Haqqani's role in May 1(2) raid.
There is something fishy in the whole affair from PAK side which I am sure will eventually come out and haunt PAK.
Verified with other intelligence agencies? Which ones? And they met him and talked with him as well? How funny. Other agencies in the world were quite jobless I suppose that they gave Ijaz so much time n attention
"Mansoor Ijaz handed over documentary proofs of a possible military takeover, with details of air control, movement of US helicopters and a conversation between President Asif Ali Zardari and Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani".
This shows that Mansoor Ejaz is not alone in the Memo Scandal Case but he has the full backing and support of US Government.
How innocent was Hussain Haqqani and the people who may have advised to do so.
The US Government wanted a military coup by hook or by crook after the OBL was killed on May 2, 2011 at Abbottabad, but it was the curtsey of General Kiyani and Pakistan Army that it did not happened.
The Civilian Government of Pakistan should be grateful to Pakistan Army that it is letting the Civilian Government to complete its tenure.
Now he turns against Army after bashing Zardari, maybe US will help out them after all America loves our Great Generals
"with details of air control, movement of US helicopters and a conversation between President Asif Ali Zardari and Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani" "To confirm what Haqqani was telling him, Ijaz said that he used his contacts with the intelligence agencies of different countries to verify this information" Obviously he is not a Joe average. He sounds like a double or triple agent with conflicting loyalties.
