Father of Meera’s fiancé, Raja Khalid said he will not let his son Naveed Shahzad marry the Lollywood star, Express News reported on Wednesday.
Calling her a cheat and a fraud, Khalid said Meera deserved to get a “Pride of Performance Award” for cleverly deceiving his son.
While speaking to Express News, Khalid said that Meera never told him about her first marriage and the related court case.
Accusing her of taking around $400,000 from Shahzad, Khalid said that he would file an FIR against the actor for retrieving the money.
It was also reported earlier that Meera was robbed of a wrist-watch worth two million rupees which she had purchased for her fiancé to be as a gift on their engagement.

Althought parents may want the best for you... sometimes they make their childrens lives miserable for their own motives... my best friend wanted to marry a guy (a good muslim Pakistani boy, and he wanted to marry her) but her parents had had her engaged to her cousin from childhood... and she tried to break the engagement but her mother said she would commit suicide if my friend broke the engagement.... so the daughter complied with her parents wishes and nwo she often thinks about her love and she also has a child with sever genetic problems because of the cousin marriage - ALL thanks to her parents!!!
With Meera becoming a household name across the world, I find it hard to believe that the father-in-law and fiancé had no idea of her previous marriage.
People. If your son is going to get married to a woman like Meera, your response will be the same. Period!

Parents and family are definitely not consulted in picking life partner, though everyone hopes and wishes that their parents will like their spouse. In fact even career choice is made independently. The parents cannot push their kids to become Dr. and Engineer like in India/Pak.

True for kids in the 18-30 range but this guy is in his late 30s. For men that age my experience in India is that family is not involved. By that time they have tried and not succeeded and are just happy that the guy is getting married after all.

the holier than whatever pilot has a daughter from a previous marriage here in long island. His family took a house, a benz, and what not from that family and left the wife and the lil girl (THE PILOT'S DAUGHTER) on their own and with their family.
i think it is a perfect marriage between two shady families.
About a year or so ago a similar 'drama' was played out and Meera came into the spot-light. She did it once, she can do it again.

Whether the new would be husband marry Meera or not, there are uncounted men in Pakistan and waiting in the queue to get married with Meera.
Shahzad and his father will regret later, if some one else from the queue will come up and hold Meera's hand.

in our country parents use a combination of religion and culture to maintain an iron grip on their children's lives .this mentality of being owners and masters and the children being their slaves is at the root of a lot of misery in our society.this guy's father is on a power trip,he is behaving like a power hungry master,it remains to be seen if the son has the intelligence to survive the blackmailing the parents are doing to him.

it shouldn't matter what the old fella is crying about.the son is the one getting married,the guy should not be held hostage to emotional blackmailing by his father.he should marry meera if he wants to,instead of giving into manipulation by his father.
