ISLAMABAD:

Seven courier service providers have been issued show cause notices by the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CPP) for using the trademark of DHL Pakistan on Tuesday.

The Competition Commission of Pakistan considered the use of the logo as false, misleading and capable of harming the business of DHL.

An inquiry conducted by CCP revealed that the use of the DHL logo without its consent made its use fraudulent and under deceptive marketing practices. The inquiry report observed that deceptive marketing practices have a direct impact on consumers and the public at large. It is in the interest of the general public that the undertakings should be stopped from advertising in a misleading manner.

In the show cause notices issued by CCP, respondents have been given 14 days to file their written reply and avail the opportunity of being heard on March 13, 2012 before CCP.
