LAHORE: Verified voter lists have been a major sticking point between political parties and the authorities over many past elections. In this regard, display centres have been set up where people can review voters lists and verify information.

DCO Ahad Khan Cheema, while addressing District Development Review Committee on Tuesday said that display centres had been set up in 895 public schools of the city to ensure transparency.

These centres, Cheema said, would remain open from nine in the morning to five in evening, operational on holidays as well.

The voter lists are expected to be verified by March 21.

The DCO said that the centres have been created in schools to provide easy access to the public. He said that school teachers have been assigned duties to verify the lists. He said that citizens should ensure correct entry in voters list and can also register their objections regarding lists.
