Chasing England’s score of 129, Pakistan’s batting line up struggled from the get-go, when opener Mohammed Hafeez got out in the first over, while fellow opener Awais Zia provided some histrionics by scoring 23 runs (28 balls) which included a four and a six.
Misbah, in the interview, said that his team did try but England bowlers were too good. “I think we did try our best but in the last three overs they changed the tempo. Credit must be given to England.”
The captain also termed the defeat a “big disappointment” and said that the time has come for the team to sit down and try to get rid of the weak areas. “Something ought to be done about our batting soon.”
Misbah faced vast criticism from cricket fans over social media networks, many of them demanding that the captain to be removed from the team for making just 13 runs off 26 balls.

@romeo: I agree with you 100%. You nailed it. They failed by just one scoring shot and any of those "natural talent" batsmen could have played. Only Asad S, played by he is used to running himself out when he is needed.

He really played great under pressure, the result speaks for itself. All the batting failed miserable. Only a day later Kholi played under pressure and won to give you an example. These players from Hafiz to Afridii are great agaist second class teams but not against classy fast bowling.
Starting from Umar Akmal, Misba, Awais Zia, Afridi were made to look like "HEAD LESS CHICKEN" by the English bowlers. Strange how the selectors got Zia in the team. He can play only 1 shot that is wild swing and miss, he is of no class, no talent at all.

If the selectors are at fault for choosing misbah, then by your logic its not their fault since someone else made them selectors, thus no one is to be blamed for their own actions. Misbah should resign from T20 now. However, the fact remains that this "strong" batting line failed miserably when there was a need for just one batsman to perform. Not a single batsman showed the capacity to stay at the wicket and score. If you take Misbah's innings out then the whole team would have folded sooner. Players like Afridi, Hafiz, etc., are great against mediocre teams but not against the top. People who support Afridi as the new leader should look at his performance in this series both with bat and ball. We have seen Pakistani batting against the top class fast bowling and it is nothing new. No leader or cach can actually play for the top batsmen.
Players don't select themselves to the squad the selectors do. If selectors drop Misbah from T20 squad then he cant play. If the selectors are incompetent and keep him in the squad then who is at fault. Its like people writing nonsense because they have access to internet. Take away their internet and no more blogging. Now you all proponent retirement understand

It's time to man-up Miss-bah! Learn something from Afridi for once, when he couldn't perform in test matches, he retired from test cricket saying he wasn't good enough for the format! Wish you could do the same along with Malik!

No Misbah - it's you who failed to deliver. You may have led the team to a whitewash in the test series, but you are in no way a limited-overs captain - particularly T20.
