KARACHI: Tension gripped Orangi Town after a political activist and another man were gunned down in separate incidents on Sunday, said the Orangi Town police. They claim that Ibrahim, 30, used to work as a security guard and was at his friend’s shop in Bukhari Colony when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. An hour later, two motorcyclists killed a disabled man identified as 35-year-old Abdul Kareem. The police claim that Kareem was from an Urdu-speaking family and was not affiliated with any political party. A heavy contingent of Rangers was sent to the area to monitor the situation. According to Orangi Town SP Akram Abro, both men were killed in separate acts of target killings and had no links to each other. He insisted though that the law and order situation was under control.
