Administrative issues: PMA elections to be held on April 8

The election schedule will be notified in a few days

LAHORE: Elections to the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Punjab chapter, will be held on April 8, a PMA spokesman said on Sunday. The announcement came after the PMA’s provincial council meeting on Sunday. The spokesman said that Dr Umer Farooq Baloch has been appointed as the chief election commissioner, and Dr Shahid Shaukat Malik and Dr Wajid Ali as deputy election commissioners. The election schedule will be notified in a few days, he said. The meeting was attended by provincial councillors from Lahore, Gujrat, Jhang, Sargodha, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Khushab, Kasur and Pakpattan. The meeting participants demanded removal of non-qualified doctors from administrative posts.
