SINGAPORE:
American Michelle Wie apologised for her ‘unacceptable behaviour’ during the final round of the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament in Singapore. The 22-year-old, who struggled throughout the event, lost her cool at the 17th hole after her drive off the tee went wild, slamming her club in frustration. “I apologise for that,” said Wie. “It’s unacceptable behaviour. Sometimes it’s just really frustrating, and I was at that point where everything kind of boiled up.” Wie was 22-over 310 for the tournament, which compatriot Angela Stanford won after a dramatic four-way playoff for the title.
