Gas Related Deaths: Couple dies of suffocation in Quetta

The bodies of the victims were shifted to the Bolan Medical Hospital and handed over to their families after autopsy.

QUETTA: A couple died of suffocation in the Hazara Town of the provincial capital on Friday, increasing the death toll from gas-related deaths to 32 this winter in Balochistan. According to official sources, a couple, identified as Ahmed Ali and his wife Haneefa Bibi, forgot to switch off their gas heater before going to sleep on Thursday. As the oxygen of the room was consumed, they died of suffocation. The bodies of the victims were shifted to the Bolan Medical Hospital and handed over to their families after autopsy. Some 32 people have died from gas related cases reported in Ziarat, Mastung, Quetta and other parts of the province this winter.
